Dr Robert Noble, Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at City St George's, University of London

Rob is a Senior Lecturer in applied mathematics at City St George’s. As primary supervisor, I he has three PhD students completed and two in progress. He has also supervised numerous undergraduate and master’s project students at CSG and elsewhere.

His group uses data-driven mathematical and computational models to investigate the evolution and ecology of tumours and other biological systems, in collaboration with experimental biologists and clinicians. They aim especially to develop methods for patient-specific tumour progression forecasting and to devise treatment strategies that optimally manipulate tumour evolutionary dynamics. In the process, the group generates and analyses many rich data sets that present interesting visualization challenges and opportunities.
