Jason is an experienced visualization researcher, designing and developing maps and graphics in a whole host of domains that reveal structure in data and help people think and developing methods for conducting research in applied contexts.
This research, involving design concepts, theoretical frameworks, algorithms, and human response experiments, is described in about 20 papers published in IEEE Transactions on Visualization & Computer Graphics in the last decade or so and has been recognised with various national and international research prizes, including four consecutive Best Paper awards at GIS Research UK and ‘Honorable Mentions’ at IEEE Information Visualization (2009, 2010, 2016, 2018).
