Coventry City Council is one of 30 local authorities across the UK awarded funding to establish a Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC). The HDRC builds on Coventry’s track record of cross-sector engagement and collaborates with the University of Warwick, Coventry University, University College London, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, the voluntary sector, and local communities.
Coventry Health Determinants Research Collaboration has a vision to use research to help address unfair differences in the building blocks of health in Coventry. It does this by creating an environment where data, insight, and evidence help decide the best way to reduce the causes of unfair differences in health in the city.
Coventry City Council serves the people, communities, and businesses in one of the largest cities in the West Midlands and works to improve the lives of those who live, work and study in the city – including over 355,000 residents.
The One Coventry Plan sets out the vision and priorities for the city, based on the councils’ commitments to the people of Coventry and the things that residents have told them are most important. The plans three key delivery priorities are: improving outcomes and tackling inequalities within communities, improving the economic prosperity of the city and regions and tackling the causes and consequences of climate change.
