Dr Michał Król is a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security at City St George’s, University of London. His research develops measurement-driven methods for understanding large-scale distributed and decentralised systems, including Bluesky, Ethereum and IPFS.
He builds robust pipelines for collecting, cleaning and analysing messy Internet-scale data, and uses these datasets to study performance, security, abuse and governance in emerging digital infrastructures. His work has examined community moderation in Bluesky, harmful-content propagation in IPFS, Ethereum peer-to-peer networking, DeFi, NFTs and prediction markets.
He is interested in analysing complex networks and identifying causal relationships in large observational datasets, especially where multiple technical and social factors interact over time. He can supervise projects on Internet measurement, security analytics, social media analysis, blockchain transparency, and the visualisation of large temporal graph and network datasets, including methods for showing how structures, behaviours and risks shift over time.
