I’m a Professor of Aphasia Rehabilitation and Recovery at City St George’s. For over 25 years, my passion has been transforming the lives of people with aphasia (after a stroke) by prioritizing their everyday communication and quality of life. My research sits at the exciting, interdisciplinary intersection of clinical intervention, digital technologies, and accessibility—including co-designing and evaluating digital tools for rehabilitation and everyday life.
As Co-Chair of the international Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists and Joint PI on major research projects in the NHS, I bring a wealth of supervisory experience (doctoral and post-doctoral) and a vibrant global research network. I am eager to collaborate with Diverse CDT students to tackle critical issues: making data visualization genuinely inclusive for people with aphasia, and more broadly exploring visualization of health data.
